The not-so-pond fish

I was at work one day in December, and someone came in to return two black moor goldfish. The reason they were bringing them back was "they're sick and going to die." The lady claimed they had ich, even though there were no white spots on them.

Policy at work states that we can not resell fish that have been returned. One of the fish died, and I brought the other home with me so that it would have a chance to live. I treated him for ich and put him with the koi.

The three of them lived together until we set the pond up in spring 2012.

The Beginning

It began in spring 2011 with two fish. Two butterfly koi that my boyfriend brought home, with the intention of setting up a pond.

Repairs on the house pushed the pond to the back burner, so the fish lived in a 29 gallon aquarium in our dining room for the year.
