The Pond

When we set up the pond in March, it was nothing more than a hole in the ground filled with water. We put the fish in it, and pretty much forgot about them.

The water was murky, and you couldn't see the fish.

In May, my dad gave me some plants for the pond. Three lily pads and some floating plants.

For a week or so you couldn't see the lilies or the fish, so we had no idea what was alive in the pond and what was not. Eventually the pond started to clear up, and we could catch glimpses of the fish and began to see the lilies coming up.
